Behold Raghupati's utterly incomparable beauty—as though the Creator gathered the loveliness of the three worlds and placed it in each graceful limb. (1) On his soft soles, lovely as rubies, the marks of banner, goad, thunderbolt, and lotus seem to embody the love-filled inward paths of the four kinds of devotees. (2) All the auspicious marks delight good people, but the upward line shines especially—as though the ingenious Viśvakarmā laid down a measuring cord while fashioning the solar orb. (3) His great toe is lovely, his fingers close-set, and the light of slightly crimson nails glitters. The upper foot is raised to protect the humble, the ankles are concealed, and the shanks resemble plantain stems. (4) His knees resemble the base of Love's quiver; his thighs make elephant trunks and young elephants despair. A yellow garment, woven with golden jewels, is drawn charmingly around his waist. (5) His navel is a lake, the three folds its stairway, and the line of hair has the beauty of water moss. The lovely pearl necklace on his chest seems a flight of swans arriving. (6) A jeweled pendant and Bhṛgu's footprint rest upon his heart; his mighty arms reach to his knees. Graceful armlets filled with gold and gems shine beside his lovely lotus hands. (7) Fine, well-lined hands with beautiful nails and fingers bear rings. Finger guards, bow, and arrows delight the gods but pierce the hearts of demons. (8) His dark body is anointed with fine sandal paste, and a yellow cloth spreads still greater splendor—as though lightning abandoned the distant moonlight and flashed upon a dark-blue cloud. (9) A sacred thread shines across him; his collarbones are concealed, his shoulders broad and full, his nape well-formed, strong, and high, and his conch-like neck captivates the mind. (10) Words cannot express the beauty of his face, which shames an autumn lotus. The moment the eyes behold it they gain unequaled joy, while it scorns the radiance of Yamunā's son, Love, and the moon. (11) His lips are crimson, his row of teeth incomparable, and his lovely smile seems to draw the mind—as though a company of gods showered heaps of flowers within a coral pavilion. (12) His chin is graceful, jaw enchanting, cheeks lovely, and nose bewitching. His eyes humble the pride of lotuses, and his beautiful glance sprinkles the nectar of immortality. (13) Hair adorns his head, his excellent words are deep, and the movement of earrings at his ears awakens the heart—like a lovely pair of peacocks dancing at the sight and sound of a fresh blue cloud. (14) Curving brows dark as the moon's mark and a fine vermilion line shine upon his brow; the radiance of the gold crown set with diamonds and rubies illuminates every world. (15) The Vedas, Śeṣa, Śuka, Śiva, and Bhāratī cannot reach the limit of his form while describing it. Tulsīdāsa asks: how can I describe this embodiment beyond mind and speech? (16)
