Mind, behold Raghubara's form for a moment: his lovely dark body, beautiful from toenail to crown, gives delight to the eyes of every world. (1) The four lovely marks on his soles recognize his servants and eagerly bestow the four aims of life. His nails shine like drops of frost upon lotus petals, tinted by the crimson light of the rising sun. (2) His shanks and knees call plantain stems to mind; bells encircle his waist and a lovely yellow cloth adorns him. No comparison can approach his handsome quiver, navel, line of hair, and three graceful folds. (3) Bhṛgu's footprint, a jeweled pendant, a pearl necklace, and saffron unguent shine upon his chest—as though lotus and sun had met and revealed their mutual love and abundant fame. (4) Bow and arrows grace his mighty arms; precious bracelets and armlets adorn his hands and arms. A stainless cloth eclipses lightning's splendor, and a most sacred sacrificial thread shines upon him. (5) His neck is conch-like; his chin, teeth, lips, cheeks, and speech are beauty's limit, and his words dispel fear. His nose is graceful, and his fresh crimson lotus eyes brim with compassion. (6) His excellent curved brows, the lovely tilaka on his forehead, and the pure beauty of his ear ornaments shine as though Śiva, after burning Love, gave Love's faultless bow, arrow, and makara emblem to the moon. (7) His hair curls beneath a golden crown set with many kinds of radiant jewels. Tulsīdāsa says that neither poets, Śuka, Śiva, nor thousand-hooded Śeṣa can describe the beauty of Rāma, the sun of the solar line. (8)
