Today it brings happiness to behold Raghupati's face, favorable to his servants; even the autumn moon envies its beauty. His lips are red, his teeth bright, and his pure smile delicious—as though lotus lips had coaxed the moon's rays and kept them within. (1) His great eyes are red-tinged, his brows graceful, and tilaka shines on his forehead; his lovely cheeks, chin, and nose are beautiful. Curling locks lie scattered as though bees, greedy for nectar, remain enthralled above a pair of lotuses. (2) His ears are beautiful and bear a matching, lovely pair of earrings. Tulsīdāsa says they are incomparable; no simile can express them. It is as though the Creator fashioned emerald shells beside the beautiful moon, each holding a golden makara. (3)
