Behold how beautifully Rāghava's face shines! It cannot be described; merely seeing it gives delight. Is it a face, or the adornment of Beauty embodied as a noble woman? (1) His chin is lovely, his teeth shine beyond compare, and his lips are red; behold the whiteness of his smile. It is as though a moonbeam wishes to dwell within a lotus, yet—unable to decide—appears and hides again and again. (2) His graceful nose is like a lovely parrot's beak; beholding it, the heart is struck with boundless wonder. Wise heart, delight in his exquisite cheeks and gentle, captivating speech, and offer yourself completely. (3) His lotus eyes, curling hair, earrings, brows, and tilaka on the beautiful forehead are the essence of splendor. It is as though Love, enchanted by him, departed after forgetting the makaras of his banner, his bow, and his arrows. (4) Veda, Śeṣa, Śāradā, Śuka, and Śiva find no end while describing his form. Tulsīdāsa asks: how then could I—small-minded, foolish, hard-hearted, and rustic—tell it? (5)
