Friend, behold steadfast Raghubīra shining on the Sarayū bank, destroyer of worldly fear and remover of every pain. His younger brother and crowds of people accompany him; he shatters demonic armies, while the beauty of every limb captivates the minds of countless Love-gods. (1) Gaze again and again upon his eyes, abodes of beauty, happiness, and virtue; his dark curling hair, lovely earrings, and nose draw the heart away. It is as though bees, makaras, and a parrot have come, each recognizing its own kind in the lotuses, fish, and wagtails set within the moon's disk. (2) His cheeks are graceful; a tilaka gleams on his broad forehead, and his lovely curved brows resemble the moon's dark markings. His lips are red, his speech sweet, and his teeth flash like lightning; his beautiful smile and sidelong glance make the heart rejoice. (3) His neck is conch-like and his arms are long; on his breast a fresh tulasī garland shines with a charming pearl necklace, delighting the contemplative heart. It is as though the Yamunā, crowded with rows of swans, touches an indranīla peak, plunges downward, and shines more splendidly still. (4) Friend, is his glorious new and divine mantle a lovely cluster of campaka flowers, a mass of lightning, or a heap of gold? His body is an ocean of beauty, home to the fish of good people's eyes and filled with jewel-like ornaments; it draws the elephant of the mind in and drowns it. (5) Hearing the companion's verbal artistry and beholding the transcendent Lord, all were absorbed in love, astonished and unable to step either forward or back. Tulsīdāsa says they no longer knew who belonged to whom, where anyone had come from, what their business was, beside whom they stood, or what place was whose. (6)
