आजु अवध आनंद-बधावन, रिपु रन जीति राम आए। सजि सुबिमान निसान बजावत मुदित देव देखन धाए॥ १ ॥ घर-घर चारु चौक, चंदन-मनि, मंगल-कलस सबनि साजे। ध्वज-पताक, तोरन, बितानबर, बिबिध भाँति बाजन बाजे॥ २ ॥ राम-तिलक सुनि दीप दीपके नृप आए उपहार लिये। सीयसहित आसीन सिंहासन निरखि जोहारत हरष हिये॥ ३ ॥ मंगलगान, बेदधुनि, जयधुनि, मुनि-असीस-धुनि भुवन भरे। बरषि सुमन सुर-सिद्ध प्रसंसत, सबके सब संताप हरे॥ ४ ॥ राम-राज भइ कामधेनु महि, सुख संपदा लोक छाए। जनम जनम जानकीनाथके गुनगन तुलसिदास गाए॥ ५ ॥
Today Ayodhyā celebrates with joyful congratulations: Rāma has conquered the enemy in battle and returned. The delighted gods deck their splendid aerial chariots, sound their drums, and hurry to behold him. (1) In every home beautiful courtyard designs of sandalwood and gems are made, and everyone sets out auspicious jars. Banners, flags, gateways, and fine canopies are raised, while many kinds of instruments sound. (2) Hearing of Rāma's coronation, kings from island after island come bearing gifts. Seeing him seated upon the throne with Sītā, they salute him with glad hearts. (3) Auspicious songs, Vedic recitation, cries of victory, and the sages' blessings fill the worlds. Gods and siddhas rain flowers and praise him, while he removes every sorrow of all. (4) Under Rāma's rule the earth became a wish-fulfilling cow, and happiness and prosperity covered the worlds. Birth after birth, Tulsīdāsa sings the virtues of Jānakī's Lord. (5)
