Hanumān says: had Bharata not been born in this world, who would have walked the razor's-edge path and fulfilled such a vow? (1) Who would have borne upon the earth a burden of patience and righteousness heavier even than the earth-supporting mountain—honoring every virtue, taking it into his heart, and scorning sin and vice? (2) Who would have made love for Rāma's feet—difficult even for Śiva—readily accessible to the good? Who would have created from his own fame a wish-fulfilling tree that bears for Tulsī the fruit he desires? (3)
