“Sītā, take courage—Rāghava will come now. Once the son of the Wind brings him news of you, the innately compassionate Lord will not delay. (1) He will marshal a deathlike army of monkeys and bears and bridge the ocean as sport. You will see Laṅkā’s fortress encircled, while the night-ranger women, unable to escape, repent. (2) The witless demons, like moths, will fly into the fire of Rāma’s arrows and burn. Sending his household ahead, Rāvaṇa will go toward Yama’s city in deep shame. (3) Rāma will finish Vibhīṣaṇa’s coronation and make him his own, and with his sheltering arm restore the immortals to their realm. Sages will cry victory, gods shower flowers, and drums will sound from aerial cars in the sky. (4) Touching your beloved’s feet beside his brother will destroy every anguish. Seeing you at Rāma’s left, every creature with eyes will receive the fruit of sight. (5) You will gaze upon the Lord’s form with deepest love, and the Lord will gaze upon you again and again. Beholding that beauty and blessed hour, no one’s eyelids will close. (6) With the monkey host, Lakṣmaṇa, fair fame, victory, and Jānakī, he will safely return to his city. Thrilled with love, delighted and joyful, Tulsīdāsa will sing that lovely glory.” (7)
