“Tell me, when will that golden day come—the day the ocean is bridged, and you, Trijaṭā, hearing it, hurry here to tell me? (1) Rāvaṇa, oppressor of the world, gods, and saints, will reap what he has done. Vibhīṣaṇa will become king in the golden city, and hosts of celestials will rush to see it. (2) Divine drums will sound, sages will offer praise, and the spotless sky will be covered with aerial cars. Flowers will rain upon the jewel of the solar line, and then the son of the Wind will take me to him. (3) He will shine among the monkeys beside his younger brother, the beauty of his body tormenting a crore Love-gods. When these eyes behold my lord of life in that way, joy will overflow my heart. (4) Will gracious fate show me Ayodhyā again, safe together with his host, my Lord, and Lakṣmaṇa? Meeting teacher, townspeople, mothers-in-law, and both younger brothers will quench the unbearable fire in my heart. (5) Auspicious jars will stand in every home and songs of congratulation will sound; every petitioner will receive whatever pleases him. Tulsīdāsa will sing the purifying fame of the victory of Rāma, King of Kings. (6)
