Beholding the lovely, all-auspicious form, Vibhīṣaṇa became free of sorrow; love carried him beyond the limit of bodily awareness. (1) Rising from the right, he asked for a blessed seat facing the Lord. He rejoiced in gazing upon him from nail to crown: see—he had desired one thing, but something altogether greater came to pass. (2) Rāvaṇa had cut off his heads a crore times and borne severe hardship to obtain Laṅkā from Śaṅkara. Rāma saw that same Laṅkā as a trifle and gave it away like a grass seat to a guest who had arrived unexpectedly. (3) The river of his love, trustworthiness, conduct, and beauty becomes unfathomable wherever one tries to sound it. Mighty in arm and guardian of his word, he is the hero who conquered the world’s conquerors. (4) Who else in the world is so compassionate that he has removed the burning in the lowly heart? Tulsī asks: whose name but Rāma’s makes the earth bear fruit without even being sown? (5)
