Monkey, when will Rāghava come? When will my cakora-like eyes, compelled by love, behold his full-moon face? (1) Becoming bees, swans, peacocks, and rain-thirsting birds, my eyes will race in many ways; gazing upon the distinct delight of every limb, they will settle upon each in turn. (2) Like a vine scorched in separation’s fire, I shall revive beneath the water of his gracious glance. Knowing the pain of separation from him, the Treasure of Mercy will comfort me with sweet words. (3) When will he free the guardians of the worlds, gods, serpents, and humans who lie imprisoned? After Rāvaṇa’s death, sages such as Nārada will sing Raghunātha’s stainless glory. (4) Day and night I cherish this longing: when will Vibhīṣaṇa receive the kingdom? Tulsīdāsa asks, when will the Lord make me forget delusion born of attachment and the thought of division? (5)
