Speak, dear ring! Is the guardian of Kosala well together with his younger brother? Pour out nectar-like words and extinguish this net of separation’s flames. (1) It still pierces my heart that, while speaking for his welfare, I insulted Lakṣmaṇa. Has that lovely prince ever forgiven his anger and remembered me? (2) What do husband and younger brother say to one another? “Goddess,” the ring replies, “why then did those countless monkeys and bears speak?” (3) Your Lord is an ocean of virtue, mighty and noble, the merciful friend of the lowly. Yet, servant Tulsī says, no one told him of my condition. (4)
