Bow and arrow are in his hand and a handsome quiver at his waist. Moved by his beloved’s love, he wanders the forest paths beside the counterfeit golden deer. (1) His arms are broad, his shoulders and chest graceful, and beads of perspiration shine upon his dark limbs, like pearls gleaming on an emerald mountain when touched by lovely rays of the sun. (2) His eyes are lotuses; upon his head is a crown of matted locks with a flower garland amid them, like the Gaṅgā upon Śiva’s head. Tulsīdāsa offers himself to such a form, whose beauty makes countless Love-gods ashamed. (3)
