Friend, we held one lovely wish within our hearts; by Hara and Gaurī's favor alone—and Kauśika's grace—it has grown fourfold! (1) In the night of anguish over the vow and anxiety over the bow, the darkness of worry and shame was far from slight. But seeing the sun of the solar line, the forest of friendly hearts' lotuses bloomed upon the lake of the assembly. (2) Every prince and princess is an embodiment of blessing, and both kings are foremost among those who bear the burden of dharma. The royal gathering too is richly fortunate: in one place it has gained this reward for its eyes. (3) Brahmā gathered every merit and fashioned this joyous wedding of Rāma and Sītā. Tulsīdāsa says only one in whose heart the lovely couple dwells can know this happiness. (4)
