जनक मुदित मन टूटत पिनाकके। बाजे हैं बधावने, सुहावने मंगल-गान, भयो सुख एकरस रानी राजा राँकके॥ १ ॥ दुंदुभी बजाइ, गाइ हरषि बरषि फूल, सुरगन नाचें नाच नायकहू नाकके। तुलसी महीस देखे दिन रजनीस जैसे, सूने परे सून-से मनो मिटाए आँकके॥ २ ॥

Janaka's heart rejoiced when Pināka broke. Congratulatory instruments sounded and lovely auspicious songs arose; queen, king, and pauper shared one undivided joy. (1) Beating celestial drums, singing gladly, and showering flowers, the hosts of gods danced, together with heaven's lord of dance. Tulsī says the earthly kings looked like the moon by day— left blank and worthless, like zeros whose preceding digit has been erased. (2)
