The young princes of the king of Kosala— the lovely dark and fair pair shine beautifully as they enter Janakpur. (1) Caps are upon their heads, golden buds at their ears, and yellow cloth shines at their waists. Gemmed necklaces rest on their breasts, their eyes are wide; they have come to Sītā's svayaṃvara. (2) They cannot be described; inwardly they delight the mind, lovely and still so young. The city's clever women, like cakora birds, are absorbed in gazing upon their moonlike faces. (3) ‘Where is Śiva's bow?’ they ask the boys, smiling and glancing sideways. Tulsī says: the lanes are crowded, and people climb the upper stories to see them. (4)
