The pollen of Rāma's lotus feet fell upon her. At once the sage's wife cast off her body of stone and assumed a form filled with beauty. (1) Scorched in the terrible burning of the unbearable wildfire of her husband's curse, brought on by grievous sin, she was watered with the nectar of grace and, like a celestial vine, again bore the fruit of happiness. (2) This form, inaccessible even to the Vedas, was the one the maiden of Śiva's mind chose after rejecting all other suitors. Knowing that very form had come within the path of her eyes, she did not turn away from her fixed gaze. (3) Filled with love and delight, her heart describes his form, character, and virtues. Tulsīdāsa asks: whose distress has such a Lord not removed? (4)
