Lovely and auspicious are the royal sons. Seeing them, sages, sages' wives, and young disciples call them a sweet and captivating pair. (1) Their dress and age accord with their names and forms—Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa, charming boys. It seems that cloud and lightning, Love, emerald, and gold have gained their radiance from them. (2) They have lotus feet, yellow cloth at the waist, quivers, arrows, and bows. Their shoulders are leonine, their splendid arms like the trunks of Love's elephants; their strength is vast and weighty. (3) Flawless ornaments suited to the occasion adorn their lovely limbs. Their eyes are fresh lotuses, their faces full moons; they captivate even the mind of Love. (4) Peacock feathers and flower petals have been made into childish ornaments for their heads. Marks of play, the dust and mud upon their bodies, seem to reveal deeds they had tried to conceal. (5) To guard the sacrifice, he asked Daśaratha for them and brought them to the hermitage. Gādhi's son lovingly worships and honors the guests who are dearer than life. (6) They are the fruit of the disciplines of practitioners and perfected ones, and the fruit attained by every eye. They are the fruit of all the merit of their mother and father, and the treasure of Tulsī's life. (7)
