As lovely as Rāma is, so charming is dear Lakṣmaṇa; so too Bharata, treasury of character, beauty, and affection, and with them the handsome Śatrughna. (1) Bows and arrows in hand, quivers fastened at their waists, they walk gracefully wrapped in yellow cloth. Jeweled ornaments glitter upon every limb, dispelling the net of darkness from devotees' hearts. (2) The Lord, royal swan upon the lake of Śiva's pure love, plays at crossroads, ghats, lanes, and gardens. Giving beauty as alms, he honors his supplicants again and again and makes the world's eyes rejoice. (3) The gods say, “Today Ayodhyā enjoys a golden age of every happiness; now let the sin and suffering called Rāvaṇa be destroyed.” Tulsī says: even the siddhas praise Kausalyā's merit, and the king is a vessel of abundant fortune.
