भोर भयो जागहु, रघुनंदन! गत-व्यलीक भगतनि उर-चंदन॥ १ ॥ ससि करहीन, छीन दुति तारे। तमचुर मुखर, सुनहु मेरे प्यारे॥ २ ॥ बिकसित कंज, कुमुद बिलखाने। लै पराग रस मधुप उड़ाने॥ ३ ॥ अनुज सखा सब बोलनि आये। बंदिन्ह अति पुनीत गुन गाये॥ ४ ॥ मनभावतो कलेऊ कीजै। तुलसिदास कहूँ जूँठनि दीजै॥ ५ ॥
Dawn has come—awake, Raghunandana, sandalwood for the hearts of devotees free from deceit. (1) The moon has lost its rays, the stars their brilliance; listen, my darling, the roosters call. (2) The lotuses have opened and the water-lilies grieve; the bees fly off bearing pollen and nectar. (3) All your younger brothers and friends have come to call you; the bards sing your supremely holy virtues. (4) Take the breakfast that pleases you, and give Tulsīdāsa a little of what remains from your plate. (5)
