सादर सुमुखि बिलोकि राम-सिसुरूप, अनूप भूप लिये कनियाँ। सुंदर स्याम सरोज बरन तनु, नखसिख सुभग सकल सुखदनियाँ॥ १ ॥ अरुन चरन नखजोति जगमगति, रुनझुनु करति पाँय पैंजनियाँ। कनक-रतन-मनि जटित रटति कटि किंकिनि कलित पीतपट-तनियाँ॥ २ ॥ पहुँची करनि, पदिक हरिनख उर, कठुला कंठ, मंजु गजमनियाँ। रुचिर चिबुक, रद, अधर मनोहर, ललित नासिका लसति नथुनियाँ॥ ३ ॥ बिकट भ्रुकुटि, सुखमानिधि आनन, कल कपोल, काननि नगफनियाँ। भाल तिलक मसिबिंदु विराजत, सोहति सीस लाल चौतनियाँ॥ ४ ॥ मनमोहनी तोतरी बोलनि, मुनि-मन-हरनि हँसनि किलकनियाँ। बाल सुभाय बिलोल विलोचन, चोरति चितहि चारु चितवनियाँ॥ ५ ॥ सुनि कुलबधू झरोखनि झाँकति रामचन्द्र-छबि चंदबदनियाँ। तुलसिदास प्रभु देखि मगन भई प्रेमबिबस कछु सुधि न अपनियाँ॥ ६ ॥
Fair-faced friend, behold with reverence the incomparable child-form of Rāma whom the king holds in his arms. His lovely dark body has the hue of a blue lotus; beautiful from nail to crown, he bestows every joy. (1) The light of his nails glitters upon his red feet, while anklets ring jhanjhun at them. At his waist a gold girdle studded with gems and jewels resounds, and yellow cloth adorns his body. (2) Bracelets on his hands; a pendant and tiger-claw charm on his breast; a necklace at his throat and lovely elephant-pearls. His chin and teeth are charming, his lips delightful, and a nose-ring shines upon his lovely nose. (3) His brows are bold, his face a treasury of beauty, his cheeks tender; serpent-hood earrings grace his ears. A forehead-mark and dot of collyrium shine upon his brow, and a red four-cornered cap adorns his head. (4) His enchanting lisp, his laughter and crowing steal the sages' minds. His eyes wander with a child's nature, and his lovely glances steal the heart. (5) Hearing this, moon-faced women of the household peer through the lattice windows at Rāmacandra's beauty. Tulsīdāsa says: seeing the Lord, they become absorbed and, overcome by love, retain no awareness of themselves. (6)
