Tiny little feet with tiny, lovely toes; the light of their nails seems pearls upon lotus-petals. He plays in the lovely courtyard and walks step by little step; the anklets upon his feet ring softly, jhanjhun, jhanjhun. (1) A gem-studded golden girdle of bells adorns his waist, and lovely bracelets shine upon his lotus-hands. A fine yellow tunic lies open upon his dark body, as though a little rain cloud had wrapped itself in infant lightning. (2) A tiger-claw charm upon his breast, a necklace at his throat, tousled curls, a braided lock, pendant, and mind-stealing dot of collyrium. His collyrium-darkened eyes and glance steal the heart; upon the beauty of his face I would offer countless peerless Loves. (3) Mother Kausalyā snaps her fingers and makes him dance; filled with pure love, she sings his childhood play and fondles him. He crows and laughs, two little teeth at a time shining; his lovely lisping words dwell in Tulsī's heart. (4)
