Lie down, dear child; I will rock you in the cradle. Seeing the shining lotuses of your hands, feet, face, and eyes, I will let my bee-like eyes lose themselves. (1) For the lovely jewel that is the joy of your childhood play, I will open the mine of your cooing. To string those jewels upon the thread of love, I will summon doe-eyed Understanding. (2) Tulsī says: I will delight to place that necklace upon the breast of the lovely woman, Poetry. Joining her, O Raghubara, I will sing your beautiful deeds and fix my mind upon your feet. (3)
