Translation of page 63

The first to bear the title Janak was Mithi’s son; from Janak came Udavasu. Righteous Nandivardhana was born to Udavasu, and Nandivardhana’s son was named Suketu.

Righteous and mighty Devarata was Suketu’s son; Devarata’s royal son is remembered as Brihadratha. Brihadratha’s son was the powerful and glorious Mahavira; Mahavira’s steadfast son was Sudhriti, true in valor.

Righteous Sudharmika, also called Dhrishtaketu, was born to Sudhriti. The royal sage Dhrishtaketu’s son was the renowned Haryashva. Haryashva’s son was Maru, and Maru’s son was Pratindhaka. The righteous King Kirtiratha was Pratindhaka’s son.

Kirtiratha’s son is remembered as Devamidha; Devamidha’s was Vibudha, and Vibudha’s was Mahidhraka. Mighty King Kirtirata was Mahidhraka’s son; the royal sage Kirtirata’s son was Maharoma.

Righteous Svarnaroma was born to Maharoma; royal Hrasvaroma was born to Svarnaroma. The illustrious son of Hrasvaroma was Siradhvaja.

Holding Siya’s form within my heart, I bow my head to Ganapati; by Vishvanath’s grace I shall sing these virtues without hindrance.
