His crown flashes and sparkles upon his brow, its radiance streaming in every direction. His curling locks jostle with one another, each displaying its own artful play.

The jewel at his nose is intoxicated today, as though it had drunk the boundless nectar of his lips. Seeing his pomegranate-seed teeth and soft, gentle smile, my eager heart loses itself.

His earrings sport upon his cheeks, and a pure necklace gleams upon his throat. The tilak-dot upon his dark-blue face flashes like lightning within a lovely cloud.

A bordered yellow garment covers his fitted coat, with a shawl cast above it. Lac reddens his feet and henna his hands—their beauty is wondrous beyond compare.

Beloved, dwell within the center of this heart; Vindhyeshwari offers body and mind to you.

Pada 302

Friend, the handsome dark bridegroom has enchanted my heart.

A crown rests upon his brow, and the saffron line of his tilak is exceedingly lovely. His perfumed row of curls comes tumbling playfully down upon his cheeks.

He smiles softly; the nose-jewel sways, and the intoxication of Love overspreads his eyes. Adorned in graceful ornaments and garments, he puts millions of Cupids to shame.

Fragrant lac beautifies the soles of his feet and steals the bee-like minds of sages. Through Sita’s fortune, blessedness, and love, he has come as her bridegroom.

Says Yogeshwara: cast away the heart’s pride and behold how the splendor of his beauty pours forth.

Pada 303

The beauty of Sita’s beloved is filled with magic. As soon as my eyes behold him, he enchants my life, and I forget all awareness of home and doorway.
