[Root — Chaupai and Doha] Jñajñā: Keep knowledge of the Lord; perceive no one apart from knowledge of him. Every other knowledge separates one from the Lord, while knowledge of Hari’s devotees is beautiful, purifying, and supremely pure. Know knowledge, the known, and the knower always as filled with Śrī Prabhu. Regard devotion, Bhagavān, and his devotee as filled with supreme bliss. [Sujana-prabodhinī Simple Commentary] Through jña, the author makes this humble commentator say: Always keep knowledge and contemplation of Śrī Prabhu in the heart. See no one without knowledge of him. Whatever you see, see it as filled with Śrī Prabhu; do not regard it as separate from him. No thing and no person exists anywhere outside contemplation and knowledge of the Lord: Śrī Prabhu is present in everything. ‘Knowing the whole world to be filled with Sītā-Rāma, I bow with joined hands.’ ‘Within place, time, direction, and every quarter—say where the Lord is not. The Lord pervades everywhere alike; I know that love reveals him.’ (Gosvāmī Tulasīdāsa) True knowledge is that in which nothing is known apart from the Lord; true meditation is that in which Śrī Raghupati alone is contemplated. While living in the world, brief and transient attention is given to worldly purposes, but stable, unwavering, single-flavoured knowledge and contemplation must remain continually fixed on Śrī Prabhu in the heart. Worldly information presents multiplicity and separates one from him; knowledge and contemplation of Hari are more purifying than every purity. Through them one meets Hari’s people, and through knowing and contemplating Hari’s people one attains Hari. Knowledge, the object known, and the knower should all be understood as filled with Śrī Sītā-Rāma. In the act of knowing there is the devotee; the known object of devotion is Bhagavān; and the knower who practises devotion is Bhagavān’s devotee. This triad is devotion to Bhagavān and is of his nature: Bhagavān is Bhagavān, and the devotee who worships him is likewise of Bhagavān’s nature. Therefore always know and affirm all three as filled with Śrī Prabhu and supreme bliss. This is the principle. Devotee, devotion, Bhagavān, and guru: four names, one embodied reality. Whoever bows to all of them destroys many obstacles. (Gosvāmī Tulasīdāsa) Do not live even a moment without the Lord; belong to Hari and hold fast to Hari’s praise. Thus ends Jñāna Bārah Khaṛī, composed by Śrī Svāmī 1008 Rasik Alī Jī Mahārāja. Thus ends the simple Sujana-prabodhinī commentary, composed by Śrī 108 Rājakiśorīvara Śaraṇa (Śrī Svāmī Paramānanda Jī).
