Saar (Essence)

Ananta points to the unchanging awareness that remains constant through sleep and waking, emphasizing that our true nature is prior to the sense of being and requires no intellectual effort to realize.

Awareness remains unmoved through all states that come and go.
Realization of what we are is a facepalm moment; it is so simple.
The pretense of being a person or a seeker is within your power to drop.

Who is the one who is aware of being? So what is the difference between the sleep state and the waking state? You have the direct experience of sleep, or somebody has to tell you that you slept? And you have the direct experience of waking up. The change between sleep and waking up: in sleep there was no sense of being; in waking, the sense of being. So there must be an awareness which is aware that being was not there, and now being is there. This awareness remains unmoved through all of the states which might come and go, isn't it so?

Ananta

I don't have to tell you that you went to sleep last night. You know you went. Is it okay? This is so simple, yes? It's too painful for the mind. It's too simple.

Seeker

At any time, I am always aware, yes. But who meets me in deep sleep when there are no dreams? It's difficult to say that I am aware of the absence of everything then. Most will report that there was nothing in sleep, and then when that's a natural introspection, it must make sense. There has to be a report retrospectively, but you can't say while sleeping. Reporting is retrospective because the presence of being is required for this phenomenal world.

Ananta

It's not retrospective. Therefore, I ask you: does somebody else have to tell you you went to sleep or not, or you know directly? That's an identity then. Whose direct experience is it of this awareness alone, who knows of sleep and waking? It's knowingness alone. This awareness alone.

Seeker

Maybe I am looking for the location. Location of any awareness or some... I mean, maybe I am trying to find out it as, you know, some quality. What is it around there? Let me know then.

Think about this, which is not going to happen exactly, because dimensions are what? Dimensions belong to space. They are born after the birth of being. Dimensions, space... then if time and space are not there, how can you find the quality or a location for awareness? It's prior to even being. Space is prior? No, awareness is prior. Yes, exactly. If there is no being, there is no question of any location or space.

Seeker

Exactly. But is it by intellectual anything? So your direct experience... maybe he knows that I'm using my mind, an intellectual concept. Say, for example, it's a concept. Which part is real? Which part is elusive? I mean, I mean this all that... that is faster than awareness, or maybe after that, that would end all. What is your direct experience? Is it a concept?

Ananta

Let the mind come with these. They just will see all these magazines, yet realization of what we are is a facepalm moment. This is so simple. It is so simple, guys. Anybody, every year... this is so silly. The mind thinks, 'Wait, let me check,' and it cannot take anything. But if I believe that part, 'Let me leave that point and let me check whether it's an intellectual trip or a contagion,' then it becomes a drama. Yes, it becomes a pretense. In reality, nothing changed, but being is now pretending to be a person checking on whether it was intellectual or real. That pretense is completely your power. Whether you want to play or not is your power.

Seeker

And then I have to be a seeker? I have to be one? But in that, the seeker is mental. It cannot be. This is so simple. Then even I have to drop those concepts that I am, for example, my name or my work.

Ananta

But I don't tell you even to drop them. Where is it that you need to have a concept of this? We might be some people... 'Hey, I am gullible, I am a member of this.' Oh yeah, oh no. He needs to be in the office or anything. Thank you. That's it. Welcome, my dear.
