Saar (Essence)

Ananta guides the seeker to recognize that the unchanging substratum of awareness remains present even when one feels 'lost' in thought, urging a shift from identifying with the surface-level persona to the witnessing Self.

The substratum didn't go anywhere; it is clear consciousness playing as if it is affected.
Step back from that layer of up and down and enjoy yourself on the basis of the witness.
Don't take on the responsibility of being a personification of peace; let the world play out.

Okay, we were playing 'I am Awareness.' What is it? What I am is Self, it is Atma and Awareness. But sometimes I'm unaware of the Awareness. At that time, what happens? It is with the thoughts, what you might be implying. A lot of thoughts come before. Now, when you are lost in the thought or bound with the thought, I mean, when attention is with the thought, now who is the witness of this happening?

Ananta

We want to see that when things happen, forget about Awareness. It may be you only forget about the concept of Awareness. To explain: if you say that at times, 'Here I am,' and there are other times, 'I am so caught up in my thoughts that Awareness also went out the window,' who watched that? Who watched the thoughts? Who watched the person who had to sit and do whatever I have to do? So, even during that time, there is a witness of the play of the thoughts? Yes, yes. But you are not saying that the rest of the time of the play, your attention is with the rest of the time. 'I am lost in my thoughts,' yes. So, we want to see that 'I am lost in my thoughts' is also witnessed.

Ananta

So, this substratum is not changing, actually. It is a clear Consciousness which is sometimes playing as if it is unaffected—it is its own resonance—and sometimes it is caught up. But this substratum didn't go anywhere, regardless of whatever might be happening at the surface. So, the entire ocean is you. Sometimes there are tides, sometimes no tides, and just sea. So, as long as you keep identifying yourself with the surface, it might be like the ups and downs are still happening. When you identify yourself as a witness of these ups and downs, whether it is up or down, in reality, you don't change. That's what I'm wanting you to see.

Ananta

So, if you have said, for example, that 'I am Awareness,' how can you now tell me that there are times where I'm not Awareness? But I have never witnessed that time. You do not think that. You think, 'I can see that I get lost in my thoughts, I get caught up in my identity, and then Awareness seems to go for a toss.' Okay, isn't even this you can really see? Because you are aware now. Whatever the way might be, I might say something which you completely disagree with right now. My statement, if I say something, it makes you very angry. Then would it be that when I try to be, as it were, the player, all that matching and all that core of it, your reality, isn't it? So, that itself is a vibration. The way we can feel like 'I am of this way,' we sometimes want to be fine, and sometimes I get caught up in this. So, I am asking you to step back from that layer of up and down and identify yourself on that basis. Identify yourself on the basis of the witness.

Witness to support a standard? What happens to that?

So then, because how the mind operates is in this play of opposites. It feels like 'this' is the opposite of 'that.' This is this, and then you have to become completely, completely like this. And then you can say, 'Atma actually worried about what is happening at the surface level.' Many of the Sages actually used to exhibit a lot of anger and even them cursing. I've taken examples, maybe even being responsible for the deaths of thousands of beings. Their seeming anger was an overall great accommodation, but it is not the expression of all of this. The ups and downs of our dimensions are what is creating a benchmark about 'this is always that.' In every moment, have you been able to check like this? And do you have the space for this, or do you find yourself to be so... it's like the sun coming to be East or West? Because you can have this idea that 'When I'm not looking, maybe this one comes over here.' But to see that all of this is the play of the Consciousness, which then we take on as if 'I am solely responsible for how these things are turning out.' Then we take on the idea of a limited entity. You are the first resolution.

Ananta

So, if you take on the responsibility of always being the personification of peace, it's too much burden for anyone to carry. You don't have to. Last, it was 'don't bother with it at all.' The stance can shift to the thing that we would make the effort to be authentic. So, that being material, let the world play out. Let it play, including this body-mind functioning, and then you will see it automatically. Don't you make that a benchmark? Once you want... I won't say it's not uncommon when you come into spirituality, we see all these beautiful Masters, we read all the stories we've heard about. Like, 'Life gets to be nice, no fighting with this one about this.' And then we might be able to see great ideas of those, and then we can try to live it from this way. That effort itself is trying to sew together, to tie any loose... like some moonlight. 'I am with a life we can live,' or even a 'nice person.' It would take pains of that. Everything doesn't have to unfold in this way. We will find that the moment is already unfolding. We don't have to click on a project of 'I am' to 'what I am.' When I get on my thing, then you won't have to worry with the way of going over there. What you have to do is the thing with the idea to become spiritually, psychologically... we are to be a certain way to be entitled to the first task of Atma.

Ananta

Okay, I think on... hello, creature. But you will suddenly, if you want to keep one leg in that train on one level, one life trying to be a nice person with a particular type of form and to control the outcomes in the self or control anything at all, and with them, it will subtly... this is the very game you're thinking. All of that is not that you will miss out and write this. It will even attach into the cake and the types required for the most recent clearances. Then, that's fine. If you can see, it's good. Usually, my response would be that the 'why' doesn't have an answer. Okay, good. Why is this system that's really art from the perspective of individuality? Now, because there is no such individual, actually. We can have these pretend answers while we want, but actually, there is no 'why.' All the answers are only meant to remove the question. I think you have been here enough to hear this, that 'why' actually doesn't have an answer from a person's perspective. From the perspective of Being, of Consciousness, it is just so. It is Lila. So, no ultimate or real meaning can be given to 'why' because it is part of the game.

Ananta

So, exactly. Look into it from the perspective of Being. So, if you were like caught up in a Gujarati and the doll sign is not talking to you, and I will always be part of a play, you will feel very upset with me because I... what do you make the possible access when for 25 years we're keeping it to play? Later, we have to sort of make the turn here to hear this. Let's be able to step back and see it from the universe with a simple see that there is no 'why' to answer to this one. Have you noticed I have said before that the mind loves the question 'why,' but the mind hates the question 'who'? Which is why I mentioned... okay, the mind does so. It says, 'Why did this happen? That I'm missing some food.' Now, who is it happening to? Who is it happening to? So, there is no way to have a conversation with your mind. I think if we talk like that, so the 'why' learns, but what is more fundamental? Not 'why does it happen,' but 'with whom could it happen to?' Once we identify who it's happening to, then maybe the 'why' and the answer for something which is simple is that one has a vision. Why? Oh, maybe that's what... you never know why like that. You will never know in this life.

Ananta

Something I don't want to again... before month over to see. They don't suppose that I have to make space for this all morning as anything. I will give you some answers. Sometimes I may take the perspective of Being, of this limitedness. What you're stepping back again from that perspective, almost this is the clear light on how the atmosphere of this Lila that is playing out in terms of a little bit inward for my tank. These people really mean we're taking the regions of this play, this moment with this moment on the buzzer, getting here together. In this moment, the most old echoed with all the traffic and everything we collect from various parts of others, when we take care and talk about within which are out of this, then there's so much wonder. It's just in each other's business or creaking here to the mind or energy to get out. Why? It's only visible identification. See, this is the first.
