Give Complete Freedom to This World - 2nd March 2018
Saar (Essence)
Ananta teaches that true freedom is not something to be acquired, but something to be given to the world by allowing all appearances—thoughts, emotions, and actions—to exist exactly as they are without personal labels.
Don't try to get freedom; give freedom to the world by letting it be as it is.
You are the source of all appearances; duality, desire, and doership are just a joke.
The mind is an 'Anytime Misery Machine' that only works if you punch in your PIN of identification.

Namaste everyone. A very warm welcome to satsang today. Satguru Sri Mooji Baba Jai. Your mind makes everything upside down, everything upside down. One of the most popular things that has been made upside down, has been believed, is that 'I have to get freedom.' Most popular in satsang, the most popular in the world. There are three or four most popular things: 'I have to get more money,' 'I have to get a better relationship,' 'I have to have health.' Everybody wants to have freedom. I always get this freedom thing. It's a big trap because every time you feel like you have to get freedom, you are believing yourself to be bound, and that can never be true.
So what if we were to switch it? You don't have to get freedom; you have to give freedom. You don't have to get freedom; you have to give freedom. What can you do? To give freedom to the world means what? Not that you become a strong achiever and you are free now. To give freedom to the world means let it be as it is. What is, just is. Hear the 'what is' of the appearance; it just is. To give freedom to the world to be as it is. Now, this often gets misunderstood because you still exclude your body from it. But this body, which seems so intimate, is not excluded from this. Give freedom to the world, and then you hear it as if I'm saying become a zombie or something, that the world can do whatever it wants and you just grin and bear it. That's not what I'm saying.
I'm saying give freedom to everything in this world, including this body. Including this body to have the actions and inactions that it is having. In any case, the notion of control is just made up. Most of you know this now. So give freedom, complete freedom to this world, and don't forget to include your body. Yeah, give freedom to your thoughts. I know this can sound anti-spiritual. 'I thought all of this is about controlling my thoughts.' No, it isn't. It is about giving them the freedom to come and to go, and in their naturalness, they are coming and going. Let the world come and go as it pleases. Let your thoughts come and go as they please.
Give freedom to our emotions to come and even to come and to linger. Because, you see, emotions have a different quality. A mental thought comes and goes, even if it is not related. It seems persistent only because it's repetitive. But an emotion can come and it can seem to be a bit longer in nature. Somebody told us today, the shelf life of the most persistent emotion is two and a half minutes. Then we have to then repeat itself and then invent whatever shelf life it has. We can let it be. We can let it stay. Why? Because no emotion will take the entirety of you. You are an infinite space in which a gazillion such emotions can come, although it might not seem like it. But it is true if you were to investigate.
Give freedom to your children. Then also we have some questions amongst in the Western world. So long as you give freedom to your attention, then I said, 'I know this will be so much easier.' Oh, let it come and go, nothing will happen. Oh, wherever it wants, nothing is going to happen. Yeah, and to give, how would you not give freedom to it? Actually, what is the habit you have? That you seem to have to control the world is one, to control your emotions is one. You have no matter. You really will something and say, 'Okay, I have some control over this just because I decided that okay, what is just is this.' But if I wanted something, then it will start conforming to the way I want it to be. I mean, who doesn't do that? Everything changes its inherent quality because of your label for it. It seems to change the way you experience it. This is the trick of consciousness.

So that's why these days I've been saying more and more: leave existence unlabeled. Nothing needs a label to exist. Nothing needs a motion to be done. No, you see, this thing is a fallacy that 'I think and I decided and therefore I do.' It's all nonsense. Complete nonsense. The same one thinks and the same one does, and that one is not the one you think you are. The source of all appearances is the same one consciousness, one being. And we must now be able to recognize this Mayan fallacy which teachers have been telling us for centuries.
The Indians had a proverb: the crow flies and lands on the branch of the coconut tree; the coconut falls. The mind comes and makes a conclusion that it is because the crow landed on the branch that the coconut fell. But both were just appearances that happened by the will of consciousness. Most of us now can see that these thoughts, they just appear and they disappear in your own space. And many of you are now starting to see that this is the very same about these actions, that these are just happening. And I said, I swear on my Father that there is no one entity sitting here and speaking these words. Although it might appear that there is, there is no one deciding to speak them. The one who is doing the speaking is only the one consciousness in the light of which all of this has happened.
And we have started to accept this about our thoughts, and soon we will start to accept this about these so-called actions. This is how the fallacy of 'me' gets created, the fallacy of separation gets created. You will say, 'If you drop all these notions, all of this is just one, isn't it?' Yes. But we have been trained in this way, seemingly first by our parents and then by our mind. Look at only one small appearance and call it 'me.' So don't be so miserly. Be more inclusive. Oh, you want to call only this body 'me'? Call every body 'me' then. Why leave it at just bodies? Call every perception 'me' because it is only a perception—a visual perception, a sensational perception. It's perception. So if you have the power to consider yourself to be something, don't consider yourself to be only this thing. Consider yourself to be everything.
And then why leave out the space in which they seem to be appearing? Consider yourself to be even that. That is also based in appearance for you. There is no space unless you are. If there was not the waking state right now, even this space would not be there. So it depends on your presence. Consider yourself to be this presence. This would be pure consideration. Then what? The considerations that we have been making. Now comes the fun part here. Consider everything that is perceived as 'me.' But why only that which we perceive? Why not the perceiver itself? How do we include this part? What actually is included?
So so far, we did including all forms. You included all forms and including that form of that space in which these forms are appearing. And many of you are starting to see yourself as this spacious being. Now I ask you, then you will also include the perceiver. According to you, what is the shape of that one? What is the size of that one? Where did you find it? Did you find the perceiver sitting behind your eyes? What did you find in this investigation? Who is that that perceives all of this? What does it look like? So you might say, 'I find no shape, I find only perception. I find only perception, I find no perceiver.' So include that 'I' that finds only perception. See that 'I' which is aware of even perception. Include that one because you're not making this up. You found that there is only perception, there is only perceiving you found. But this 'you,' which one is this one? Your eyes find this 'you'? No, the eyes are just the instrument of perception, one of the instruments. So who found that there is only perception? Who is this 'I'?
You see, this 'I' does not rely on any perceptions. It does not need any of this. Even Advaita concepts, it doesn't need anything at all. Even in the realm of perception, if nothing is perceived, there is deep sleep; it is not bothered. If everything is perceived, it is the waking state; it is not altered. And you have to confirm this and treat what I am giving as hypotheses. I am proposing to you that there is one that is 'you' which is unconcerned when the whole world vanishes and is not concerned with the appearance of the entire world. And the appearance and disappearance of the world is also the appearance and disappearance of its own aspect. These are the main propositions, isn't it? Nobody can check them. But is there an 'I,' is there a Self which is independent of states, independent of waking, dreams, and sleep? We start to pontificate, 'This is his body, ideas are wrong, isn't it?' With different bodies, different body entry, nobody. See who knows all of this. What type of knowing is this? You only have a concept of this, then it seems it's nobody, no body, no being, that you are the primal beyond the time or you die before 'I am.' This 'I' has no concept of boundary, of dying, of space. None of this means anything to it.
Now, for a reason that no mind can ever understand, there is an emergence of that which we call being or consciousness, 'I am.' I explained very loosely in this retreat that even for being to emerge, for anything to emerge, there must be a space for that to come. So this awareness, this 'I,' is that space which is beyond space in which being wakes up. Being is here now. But truly check whether anything changed for that 'I' that it was aware of nothing and now is aware of all three. Is that 'I' changing states, or are these states also just appearances on the screen of its being? And if nothing changed for this 'I,' even when the waking state came and it remains the silent witnessing of all there is, then what are you afraid of? The idea must be that 'I can be hurt in this plane, that something can happen to me, that I might be bound and I need freedom, that I might even want the Ananda, Satchitananda.' It's a joke because I am the source of all things. So duality is a joke, desire is a joke, and doership is a joke. And the ego is just made of these three jewels. If you live in a dream, the waking state comes and the waking state goes. How can something happen to you in the waking state? This is like you complaining and saying, 'Oh, this happened to me in the dream state, my arm was cut.'
Well, consciousness wanted to play with more excitement in this game. It just wanted to play it as it is. And if no movie is playing on the screen and the screen remains untouched, where is the fun in that? Then it devised for itself the power to identify, the power to perceive, and it devised for itself the entire display. Who will an ordinary person tell you a personal story? So who is this person? It is this mind. Nothing has happened to you, but you have given yourself the power to pretend that something has. The power to perceive that you were born, the power to believe that you will die, the power to believe that you are this body, the power to believe that these thoughts are referring to the reality of you. Basically, the power to believe nonsense. None of this is the reality of you; it is beyond this.
Now, as I'm saying all of this, it might be like, 'How do I get there? How do I find this?' You have it now. You don't have to believe it. You just have to see all my beliefs are my own limitations. Our ideas, our desires are made up. Doership is nonsense. So as you leave everything unmolested by all beliefs, unmolested by our concepts and notions, by your intentions, by your judgments, this is fully apparent to you. As I said, meet God right now. But if you judge God right now, you interpret God right now, this God will seem personal. Meet God with no beliefs. I know that this has always been true. We have only met ourselves. So I say, meet the Self or meet God with no labels. Thankfully, an emotion will come. My belief is meeting that sense. So let it be. An emotion comes. 'Am I getting what he's saying? He must be in a different state than me.' Just an emotion. Let it come and go. 'I have to stay like this only.' Let that thought come. 'But this can't be it.' Let that one come. 'When I was promised bliss, when is it going to come?' This is what I mean by giving freedom. The mind is also a creation of the supreme intelligence, so it knows that its game is over if these paradigms are reversed. If you were to come back...
The mind is also motion. Come on, am I getting what he's saying? He must be in a different state. That means just a motion; they could come and go. I have to stay like this only. Down this dimension, that did come, but this can't be it. This one I hear, let it come. When I was promised bliss, definitely it was to come. This is what I mean by giving freedom. The mind is also the creation of the supreme intelligence, so it knows its game. For it, these paradigms are reversed. If you were to come back from this paradigm of wanting freedom, wanting freedom, to giving freedom, giving freedom, and quickly realizing that as you rest in your neutrality, there is just freedom for all appearances, that it is not a physical activity that you do in your natural state. The thing is, everything we make it a thing with our labels, with our judgments. You want to be what? What is here? The most powerful thing is only to be the universe. It's your presence, and everything changes in the light of this presence.
Have you seen sunlight when you are asleep? So you have to exist for the sun to shine. And if this is too much for some of you, just know this for some time. Feel like I'm talking about your experience of it, please. The experience of it, you can admit that I cannot have the experience of sunshine unless I am. I am not speaking of your experience of it; I'm talking about the reality of it. And yet I know that sometimes it seems like that it's just too far out. So for sometimes, clear it through. In your deep sleep, you achieve the wrong solution to sunshine. So you're like a professor, or you don't even experience the light of the sun. This is the light of life, the very existence of the light of this universe. It is not a feel-good concept. Any time when we really think for the first time, it is true. You are truly the light of this world. Your existence is a precursor to the existence of all appearances. And here you are, the Lord of the universe, and could give freedom to one body or separate with you.
The other day I was speaking to someone and looking, yes, everything fine, but we don't want it for this world. Why not for everybody? They said, 'But dutifully, of course I want it for everybody.' But let's be honest, even if you want it for everybody, you want it for me first. And the worst idea is for me to get left behind. We said that everybody who came to Satsang, as long as nobody seems to be getting it and everybody's looking at me like that, that is fine. But if everybody is super, then that is bitter. How is it called? FOMO, you know, fear of missing out. You are the Lord of the universe, just played this game of pretending as if you are this tiny entity. And in the design of this, you also design them to their appearance, become and they might do now. The mind has one big trump card up its sleeve. One big trump card of its word is covering that you are the sole resolution as I step across a virtual assumption in which the apps of the universe, they come into. You are finding this out, but you want to feel this ocean that you are discovering yourself to be in your body.
I got it like this is what the one means, the seeming inhabitant of this body. Now, this is the last attractive trump card from the mind. It will say, 'Now that you have freedom, you should always be smiling.' Very ocean and coconut. They're trying to pull the ocean to this coconut water. Coconut should change its color from green. Coconut should have a cable and nothing to do with this body. This body alone, the body is just of the appearance on the screen of opening in the light of your being, in the middle of your being. Stop trying to prove that this body constantine, but this body has in particular, because it doesn't have anything to do with this body in the way of the world. As far as this has played this game of identification and ridding itself of delusion, it might also play in certain ways with how the body appears now, but there is nothing to be concerned. The beauty of truth is that it is not, it cannot go away. The beauty of truth also is that it has always been; it could not become the truth after you find it. It must be already present.
All of being is actually a channel. You are God, but not those the twain shall meet. It is a redemptive hint to make this body-mind bar a God. God is always, he's been God. Body-mind can never become God. Embarked, and you leave everything. What can't you leave? And you give freedom to they're racing to come in move. What just is, does that have a boundary? Does it have a shape? Does it have a birthday? Does it have teams? It is that one which the scriptures say cannot be cut by swords, cannot be burnt by fire, cannot rot in water. You already are that which is opposite of that which can be cut by sword, it will be burned by fire, it will not be created. Let's accept this magnum move. It will endure in the communal pile or another. All your possessions in position, all their great conceptual understanding and learning, all their great experiences, whether they are that which you want to get, if you get it, it will go. That it is already here as your very essence. Its essence, the essence of your being is one. Yes, what separated? Not simply, but the body is just one aspect appearing in your own light.
It's like you have a head full of hair. Would you consider yourself to be just one hair? Remember what I'm saying, that whatever idea appearing on this screen of my being, only body is whatever I might consider myself to be. And you start to include that which perceives all of these. When we start to include that which is aware of all of this, what do you find yourself to be? Do you find yourself to be a body which has discovered the Self, or do you find yourself to be the Self in which this entire universe and the body is? This is what is important. Are you finding yourself to be a body that is on the Self, or do you really see that you are the Self, or is this entire play of appearances which is your phenomenal aspect is your body? Nothing exists without your light. What is your experience of this? But that's open now for five years. It's before another fire came, but what I'm saying will not change. The words might change, where I'm pointing you to, it's the same.
We are so weak to pick up this reference point as if I'm condemned as some object to this body. We so pick up, please be so good to pick up these sunglasses of individuality that even this understanding of no limitation, no boundary, we want to give to the limited. And it says this discovery came, no one wanted to the claim brought up that has not changed. Please give me a factor. Also deal with other part in the play. I am a novice in this fortune. Their tendencies are not useful through Jesus discovered that although this is a dream, that doesn't give any advantage to that dream character which you believe yourself to be. Exactly how to deal with others in the field? First part of what I said is very useful here: that now all your appearances to be as they are, including the appearance of this body, is that you all I have in this will allow and then desire to please. Nobody has come with him, he had wanted to do this back to Kula. Oh good, he has ever might hear all the stories of the miracles, but Ram came and he cried and cried and cried in this world. Jesus came and he cried and cried. Nobody has come with any super. The party's right. I won't disappear in the world till there is my suffering with mati. All this is Ram to come and it is bountiful, but they come to the point where you want roots for to see after the thirst of truth.
You know this alligator, all of these movies, that there is no Satsang for me, and yet you are still here. Therefore, a very big part of you which, if not the entirety of you now, is aligned to this good for kids. So there can be moments when likely them seem very strong until I write this, wanted to leave from this game, I just want my family to feel better. It will happen, and these moments will also come and go. And there are many shops in the world who are selling solutions for all of these moments. I'm here to tell you that you are mighty wanted, but there in the play of the life of whatever you know further, your sometimes there are tears or laughter. You are finding that you are, of course, the end of suffering is often tasty, but you should not even emphasize on that because that itself becomes an expectation. So I would rather say forget if everything was on fire, but you still want a master in your heart, if you still want to paste on you the truth of what you are. And maybe in that moment where everything was on fire, it seems so difficult a task, it's fine. But at least when you get a moment to reflect, what is it true? If I was a genie, but you had only one wish, any one or two here, would you ask for something ephemeral?
Will come and go with this body. My attention, the words, my being keep slipping. I become aware only when it comes back with help.
I'm saying in your attention to do whatever it similar place to write in the with me. And I said give everything its full freedom, including also attention. Never let your attention go wherever it comes and discover that we can never give you. Attention is going in there with what is it attached to? Can you send attention on? You send it to, send it so far out that it has no connection with you? Who can do this? Because even happens idea that my attention leads me when I want to see this. Send it out for you. I send it back to you. Thomas, you send it out and I will catch it and I will send it back to you. So you do not want to use. I am making a joke of this, but I want you to discover the attention is only navigating your own being. It's only moving within your being; it cannot leave you. So my advice is rarely given like this. Propose the poor thing that is natural to the mind with the pure since I am an associated press in China, that is what they are referring to. That advice is only for those who it is very natural. Don't have to force anything as long as they are not believing for reminders telling you about yourself. There is no trouble that the attention goes wherever it wants. There is no identification.
Just food attention who also meet with me to identify. Some of you are new today, so maybe that between share this example of the ATM. Now suppose the ATM though, the project was the opposite, who trying to escape your misery. But now suppose that you were born on another planet which is great like this planet. There is more suffering, more awkward is now some collect in Satsang better say this concept of, this concept of in. Let's really start experiment. They realize that they have a ATM machine. Anytime misery machine is there, it's called the mind. In that planet it existed for, it was hardly ever given any attention. So now the point of this machine, anytime visiting machine called the mind, when they start to give it energy. So why is it the ATM was to have to put a ATM card in? In the attention to mind, you have to put it in. But this because we don't pay any ATM card in, which is attention, can you extract money already through Canadian? You also have to punch your personal identification. You have to say that this has meaning for me. The total stomach at home without losing your a pink elephant, you're a terrible father. So to fail in my exams, you lose your relationships. All of this, I just thought they mean nothing. Can you give your assent to them till you punch in your PIN? The thought in itself has no power. It is what we have considered it to be or considered ourselves to be. It seems to give it power. So if you consider yourself to be a father, the thought comes that you're a terrible father, that might hurt. If you consider yourself to be a little bit wrestler and if the thought comes that, 'Oh, you're a terrible wrestler,' will it then bother you? If the wrestler can't come to the father, even other, and the other one comes from the wrestler, he's not Bobby. Therefore, the thought itself does not have the power. It is what we consider ourselves to be, and this feeling is same. This is the root of identity. So you can give attention to whatever you want to do or not do.
If the thought comes 'You're a terrible father,' that might bother you. If you consider yourself to be a little bit of a wrestler and if the thought comes that 'Oh, you're a terrible wrestler,' it then will bother you. If the wrestler thought comes to the father, it doesn't bother him. And if the father thought comes to the wrestler, he's not bothered. Therefore, the thought itself does not have the power. It is what we consider ourselves to be, and this feeling is the same; this is the root of identity. So you can give attention to whatever you want to do or not do. If you think yourself to be the doer of your thoughts, let's see what happens. The thought itself has become too oppressive. 'I cannot let my attention go there.' It does look like to me, if you are constantly worried about where attention is going, does that look like freedom to you? Is this how sages are appearing, to be constantly concerned about where their attention is? In fact, sages are called the Mahabhogis. They're tasting every single phenomenal flavor with full perception. And if they're having a conversation, they're having the conversation. They are not thinking of 'What will I say next?' or 'What must be happening at my house?' It is that they're tasting this phenomenal appearance with full brightness, and that can only be done when attention is dissipated. Attention is not what freedom is.
As for people today, what actually changes when self-realization happens? Is it just the mental belief in the separate self that happened to hide the liquid sun? Is it that simple?
Yes, simple. Yes. I wish all of you will feel like, 'Oh, it is just that,' because we feel like it's just a habit of identity. It is. Although people just put it like this, I hope you leave happy knowing that it is to actually recognize that all of that is already gone now. Even the doing, we don't have to do to see the Self that is here. To have an insight about this and not to pick up the false notions about yourself. So, recognition of the Self and a deeper shedding of this conditioning which comes from the mind. Thank you so much for being in satsang today. Satguru Sri Mooji Baba Ki Jai. Yes, the room has become completely transparent. I can't see her head only. So when I said consider yourself to be this space and not this body, that's what I meant.
