Saar (Essence)

Ananta explains that satsang is the divine play of Consciousness waking up from the delusion of personhood to recognize its eternal, unbound nature as pure Awareness.

God pretending to be a person is the ego; dropping that idea is returning to pure presence.
Satsang is not about fixing a person, because no person has ever really existed.
This is all about Consciousness getting associated with 'I am this' and then returning to unassociated purity.

So, this is speaking at two different levels in the same book. As never been bound, no person has ever existed, you see. Therefore, what is satsang? What is the scripture also for? If awareness has never been bound, no person has ever existed, then what is the need of this scripture and this? Those in the play, Consciousness, when Consciousness wants to wake up—although there is no waking up as such—but in the play, when Consciousness wants to wake up, it stops being a person or it gets fed up with being a person. Then it comes to satsang to kill the person, to know that I was never a person, I was always Atma. So, this recognition belongs to who? To awareness itself, but in its dynamic aspect called Consciousness.

Ananta

Consciousness playing as if it is a person is what we say to be egoistic. Consciousness playing as the person is Consciousness being egoistic. God pretending to be a person is the ego. God dropping that idea—of course, dropping the idea that I'm an individual entity—is the returning to the pure presence, unassociated being. So, this is all about God playing with God. Right now, God is playing with himself in this way. So, to delude himself, he had to, or she had to, hear the parents, he had to hear the mind. And the mind is the voice of all the conditioning. If you believe in prior lives, then it is the voice of all the life conditioning. So, all of this hard work had to be done to play the game, of course.

Not so even the ending it wants to be in this way where... some just have a finger snap, very few rare ones, but mostly it plays in this way where it embarks on the spiritual journey. These new insights, it wants to taste every moment of even this, the letting go of delusion. So, this is all about Consciousness getting associated, conditioned, adding things to 'I am.' I am this, I am this, I am this, I am this. And then getting rid of all this: I am not this, not this. That's why 'Neti, Neti.' You come to this purity of being unassociated. That is why this scripture is there. That is why all satsang is there. Nothing ever happened to awareness, and they are not trying to fix the person because no person has ever really existed.
