That We Should Renounce It

English Translation · I.P. 848

ONCE for all I have performed a ceremony of purification, severing myself from the world; I have renounced the fault known as selfish desire. I have bathed myself in repentance; I have offered a sacrifice of my body, where the life of the one is lost in that of the many. Thither Tuka is drawn, dancing with fond devotion.
