Abhanga 207The Nature of God

Distinction from God Necessary

English Translation · I.P. 207

WHAT does the lotus flower know of its own perfumes? The bee enjoys it all. Thus thou knowest not thy own name, but we know* the happiness of love that proceeds from it. The mother cow cats grass, but the calf enjoys the sweet milk; he enjoys who produces not. Tuka says, The pearl lies in the shell, but the shell cannot see or enjoy it.
