राम! रावरो नाम साधु-सुरतरू है। सुमिरे त्रिबिध घाम हरत, पूरत काम, सकल सुकृत सरसिजको सरु है॥ १॥ लाभहूको लाभ, सुखहूको सुख, सरबस, पतित-पावन, डरहूको डरु है। नीचेहूको ऊँचेहूको, रंकहूको रावहूको सुलभ, सुखद आपनो-सो घरु है॥ २॥ बेद हू, पुरान हू, पुरारि हू पुकारि कह्यो, नाम-प्रेम चारिफलहूको फरु है। ऐसे राम-नाम सों न प्रीति, न प्रतीति मन, मेरे जान, जानिबो सोई नर खरु है॥ ३॥ नाम-सो न मातु-पितु, मीत-हित, बंधु-गुरु, साहिब सुधी सुसील सुधाकरु है। नामसों निबाह नेहु, दीनको दयालु! देहु, दासतुलसीको, बलि, बड़ो बरु है॥ ४॥
Rāma, your Name is the saints’ wish-fulfilling tree. Remembered, it removes the threefold heat and fulfills desires; it is the sun for the lotus of every meritorious deed. (1) It is the gain beyond gain, the happiness beyond happiness, and everything one possesses; it purifies the fallen and is terror even to fear. For the low and the high, the pauper and the king, it is accessible, happiness-giving, and like one’s own home. (2) The Veda, the Purāṇas, and Purāri have proclaimed aloud that love for the Name is the fruit even of the four human aims. In my judgment, the person whose mind has neither love nor trust for such a Name of Rāma should be known as a donkey. (3) There is no mother or father, friend or benefactor, kinsman or teacher like the Name; it is a wise, virtuous master and a moon of nectar. Compassionate One toward the lowly, grant servant Tulsi enduring love for the Name—blessed Lord, this is the great boon. (4)
