नाथ! कृपाहीको पंथ चितवत दीन हौं दिनराति। होइ धौं केहि काल दीनदयालु! जानि न जाति॥ १॥ सुगुन, ग्यान-बिराग-भगति, सु-साधननिकी पाँति। भजे बिकल बिलोकि कलि अघ-अवगुननिकी थाति॥ २॥ अति अनीति-कुरीति भइ भुइँ तरनि हू ते ताति। जाउँ कहुँ? बलि जाउँ, कहूँ न ठाउँ मति अकुलाति॥ ३॥ आप सहित न आपनो कोउ, बाप! कठिन कुभाँति। स्यामघन! सींचिये तुलसी, सालि सफल सुखाति॥ ४॥
Lord, destitute, I watch day and night only for the path of your grace. Merciful to the poor, at what time will it come? It cannot be known. (1) Good qualities, knowledge, dispassion, devotion, and the ranks of noble disciplines have fled in distress on seeing Kali, the storehouse of sins and faults. (2) Through extreme injustice and corrupt practice, the earth has become hotter even than the sun. Where shall I go? I bow to you; there is no place anywhere, and my mind is distraught. (3) Father, no one—not even this self—is mine; all are harshly corrupt. Dark cloud, water Tulsi: the fruitful rice crop is drying up. (4)
