जो पै दूसरो कोउ होइ। तौ हौं बारहि बार प्रभु कत दुख सुनावौं रोइ॥ १॥ काहि ममता दीनपर, काको पतितपावन नाम। पापमूल अजामिलहि केहि दियो आपनो धाम॥ २॥ रहे संभु बिरंचि सुरपति लोकपाल अनेक। सोक-सरि बूड़त करीसहि दई काहु न टेक॥ ३॥ बिपुल-भूपति-सदसि महँ नर-नारि कह्यो ‘प्रभु पाहि’। सकल समरथ रहे, काहु न बसन दीन्हों ताहि॥ ४॥ एक मुख क्यों कहौं करुनासिंधुके गुन-गाथ? भक्तहित धरि देह काह न कियो कोसलनाथ!॥ ५॥ आपसे कहुँ सौंपिये मोहि जो पै अतिहि घिनात। दासतुलसी और बिधि क्यों चरन परिहरि जात॥ ६॥

If there were any other, why, Lord, would I repeatedly weep and tell you my sorrow? (1) Who else has affection for the poor? Whose name is Purifier of the Fallen? Who gave his own abode to Ajāmila, the root of sin? (2) Śambhu, Brahmā, Indra, and many guardians of the worlds were there, yet none gave support to the elephant king drowning in the river of grief. (3) In an assembly of many kings, Nara’s wife cried, ‘Lord, protect me!’ All the powerful were present, but no one gave her clothing. (4) With one mouth, how can I tell the tales of the Ocean of Compassion’s qualities? For the welfare of devotees, what did the Lord of Kosala not do after taking bodily form? (5) If you are utterly disgusted with me, entrust me to someone equal to you. Servant Tulsi—how could he leave your feet and go by any other way? (6)
