Raga Asavari Rama, you know well the way of love. I am your sacrifice: the Veda acknowledges such a litany of your fame—you remove the greatness of the great and the smallness of the small. (1) You performed the vulture’s funeral rite and ate the forest woman’s fruit; this too is finely proclaimed in the assembly of saints. Whomever you honor is honored by world and Veda alike, and love for you is counted weightier than yoga and knowledge. (2) By the gracious Lord’s grace, even in the harsh age of Kali, your glory is understood and brought into the heart. Tulsi, subjected to others, has become without relish for this nectar; yet, Friend of the poor, he stubbornly holds his ground at your door. (3)
