राम भलाई आपनी भल कियो न काको। जुग जुग जानकिनाथको जग जागत साको॥ १॥ ब्रह्मादिक बिनती करी कहि दुख बसुधाको। रबिकुल-कैरव-चंद भो आनंद-सुधाको॥ २॥ कौसिक गरत तुषार ज्यों तकि तेज तियाको। प्रभु अनहित हित को दियो फल कोप कृपाको॥ ३॥ हरयो पाप आप जाइ कै संताप सिलाको। सोच-मगन काढ़्यो सही साहिब मिथिलाको॥ ४॥ रोष-रासि भृगुपति धनी अहमिति ममताको। चितवत भाजन करि लियो उपसम समताको॥ ५॥ मुदित मानि आयसु चले बन मातु-पिताको। धरम-धुरंधर धीरधुर गुन-सील-जिता को?॥ ६॥ गुह गरीब गतग्याति हू जेहि जिउ न भखा को? पायो पावन प्रेम तें सनमान सखाको॥ ७॥ सदगति सबरी गीधकी सादर करता को? सोच-सींव सुग्रीवके संकट-हरता को?॥ ८॥ राखि बिभीषनको सके अस काल-गहा को? आज बिराजत राज है दसकंठ जहाँको॥ ९॥ बालिस बासी अवधको बूझिये न खाको। सो पाँवर पहुँचो तहाँ जहँ मुनि-मन थाको॥ १०॥ गति न लहै राम-नामसों बिधि सो सिरजा को? सुमिरत कहत प्रचारि कै बल्लभ गिरिजाको॥ ११॥ अकनि अजामिलकी कथा सानंद न भा को? नाम लेत कलिकालहू हरिपुरहिं न गा को?॥ १२॥ राम-नाम-महिमा करे काम-भुरुह आको। साखी बेद पुरान हैं तुलसी-तन ताको॥ १३॥
Whom has Rama not blessed through his own goodness? Age after age this living evidence of Janakinatha has been awake in the world. (1) When Brahma and the other gods petitioned him, recounting earth’s grief, he became the moon to the night-lilies of the solar line and the nectar of bliss. (2) Kaushika melted like hail on seeing that woman’s power; the Lord gave one who meant harm the fruit of a friend, his anger becoming grace. (6) Poor Guha, low by caste, had eaten every kind of creature; through pure love he gained the honor of a friend. (7) Who respectfully gave Shabari and the vulture the highest destiny? Who removed the affliction of Sugriva, the very boundary of grief? (8) Who could preserve Vibhishana from such a maw of death? Today he still reigns where the Ten-necked once ruled. (9) The witless washerman of Ayodhya, scarcely worth asking about, reached the place where even sages’ minds grow weary. (10) Whom did the Creator fashion who cannot attain liberation through Rama’s name? Girija’s beloved remembers it, teaches it, and spreads it. (11) Who has not rejoiced on hearing Ajamila’s story? Even in the Kali age, who has taken the Name and not gone to Hari’s city? (12) The glory of Rama’s name can make even the milkweed tree a wish-fulfilling tree. Veda and Purana are witnesses—and Tulsi’s own body is one. (13)
