राग बिलावल जो पै कृपा रघुपति कृपालुकी, बैर औरके कहा सरै। होइ न बाँको बार भगतको, जो कोउ कोटि उपाय करे॥ १॥ तकै नीचु जो मीचु साधुकी, सो पामर तेहि मीचु मरै। बेद-बिदित प्रहलाद-कथा सुनि, को न भगति-पथ पाउँ धरै?॥ २॥ गज उधारि हरि थप्यो बिभीषन, ध्रुव अबिचल कबहुँ न टरै। अंबरीष को साप सुरति करि, अजहुँ महामुनि ग्लानि गरै॥ ३॥ सों धौं कहा जु न कियो सुजोधन, अबुध आपने मान जरै। प्रभु-प्रसाद सौभाग्य बिजय-जस, पांडवनै बरिआइ बरै॥ ४॥ जोड़ जोड़ कूप खनैगो परकहँ, सो सठ फिरि तेहि कूप परै। सपनेहुँ सुख न संतद्रोहीकहँ, सुरतरु सोइ बिष-फरनि फरै॥ ५॥ हैं काके द्वै सीस ईसके जो हठि जनकी सीव चरै। तुलसिदास रघुबीर-बाहुबल सदा अभय काहू न डरै॥ ६॥
Rāga Bilāvala If compassionate Raghupati grants his grace, what can another’s enmity accomplish? Not a hair of the devotee is harmed, though someone devise ten million means. (1) The vile man who watches for a saint’s death dies that very death himself. Hearing Prahlada’s story, renowned in the Vedas, who would not set foot upon the path of devotion? (2) Hari rescued the elephant king, established Vibhishana, and made Dhruva immovable, never to fall. Remembering his curse upon Ambarisha, the great sage still wastes with shame. (3) What, indeed, did Suyodhana not do? The fool burned in his own pride. By the Lord’s grace, the Pandavas themselves chose and received good fortune, victory, and fame. (4) The fool who digs well after well for another will himself fall into one of those wells. An enemy of saints has no happiness even in a dream; for him the wish-fulfilling tree itself bears poisonous fruit. (5) Who has two heads, that he should obstinately cross the boundary of the Lord’s servant? Through the strength of Raghubira’s arm, Tulsidas is forever fearless and afraid of no one. (6)
