When Prahlada was tormented by the buffalo-demon, she arrived at once, grinding her teeth in fury. When seven infants of Vasudeva were devoured, she appeared at the fateful hour. When the Pandavas were driven into helpless exile, she rushed to their side and sheltered them. Wherever the name is remembered, she runs of her own accord, seeing only the devotee's faith.
