O gracious Lord, grant me that wisdom by which I may attain liberation and find my place at Your feet. Says Tuka, O God, come and dwell within my chitta.

In Plain Words
O gracious one, become the giver of right understanding to me. Give me the wisdom by which I am lifted up and find a footing at your feet. Tuka says: O God, come and live inside my heart.
What it means
Tukaram prays for one gift only: the understanding that saves. He addresses God as the merciful giver and asks to be made wise, not for worldly cleverness but for the kind of knowing that lifts a soul up and sets it firmly at God's feet. The poem treats liberation as something granted by grace through right understanding, not won by the seeker alone. It ends with the deepest version of the request, that God not merely teach from outside but come and dwell within his heart, so the wisdom and the giver are one.
Prayers
Direct appeals to God: for protection, guidance, strength, and mercy.
