English Translation
See God in all beings; every creature with its life-breath is one with the formless Absolute, the non-dual Niranjana alone. Thus proclaim the Puranas, the voice of the Vedas, and all the saints who roar with the fullness of direct experience. The notions of 'mine' and 'yours' are distortions; when dissolved, only Oneness remains. No great labor is needed; simply inquire within. Says Tuka, duality has no real existence. Through the play of imagination alone, the One has seemingly multiplied itself.
We ask forgiveness for any inaccuracies in rendering Tukaram ji’s original Marathi.
In Plain Words
God is present in all beings. Every creature, with its breath, is the one non-dual ground, the stainless One, alone. So the Puranas roar, so the Vedas speak, so all people say, and so the saints roar, full to the brim with their own experience. 'Mine' and 'yours' are only a distortion; when that clears away, only Oneness is left. It needs no great labor; you only have to inquire. Tuka says: a second thing simply does not exist on its own. By the work of imagination alone, the One has seemed to grow into many.
What it means
Tukaram states the non-dual claim plainly: the same single, stainless Reality is present in every living thing. He stacks his witnesses, Puranas, Vedas, common speech, and the saints who speak from direct experience, so this is presented as settled and tested, not as speculation. The dividing line 'mine and yours' he calls a mere distortion that dissolves under inquiry, leaving only Oneness. The point is that the work required is small: not heroic effort, but looking honestly. The apparent many, he says, is the One inflated by imagination, so duality has no standing of its own.
