English Translation
Now there is nothing else in this wilderness; I have fallen into the pure and formless. I look only for Your presence; all other desires have been dissolved. The old path has been abandoned; renunciation has come through disenchantment. Says Tuka, O compassionate One, You are the true kinsman of my jiva.

What it means
Tukaram describes the end of a long emptying out. He has come into a solitude where nothing remains but the pure and formless, and his whole attention is now a single watching for God's arrival, since every other hope has fallen away. He is careful about how this happened: the old path did not break by force of will but through losing all taste for it, a renunciation born of disenchantment. What is left when everything else is gone is a relationship: the compassionate Lord is the one true kinsman of his soul.
