English Translation

Let us go to God's village; God will give us rest. Let us tell God our joys and sorrows; God will satisfy our hunger. Let us place our burden upon God; God is an ocean of bliss. Let us stay close to God, clinging firmly to His feet. Says Tuka, we are children, the darlings of this God.

In Plain Words

Let us go to God's village; God will give us rest. Let us tell God our joys and sorrows; God will take away our hunger. Let us lay our whole burden on God; God is an ocean of bliss. Let us stay close beside God now, holding fast to His feet. Tuka says: we are children, the darlings of this God.

What it means

Tukaram describes the soul going to live where God lives, the way a child goes home. Everything a person carries, joy, grief, hunger, the whole weight of the burden, is to be handed over to God, who is named an ocean of bliss. The instruction is simple: do not stand at a distance but stay close and cling to His feet. The image at the close is the heart of it: we are not strangers petitioning a king but children, and God treats us as the ones He dotes on.
