English Translation

To say that the devotees of Hari know fear is simply not proper. God stands hidden behind them and fulfills their every wish. To say that the devotees of Hari know anxiety is an outlandish tale. Says Tuka, whatever they need to eat, wear, or give away is always provided.

We ask forgiveness for any inaccuracies in rendering Tukaram ji’s original Marathi.

In Plain Words

To say the servants of Hari feel fear is wrong even to speak. God stands hidden behind them and grants their every wish. To say the servants of Hari feel anxiety is an absurd tale. Tuka says: whatever they must eat, wear, or give away, He provides it all.

What it means

Tukaram states the security of God's devotees as something so sure that the opposite should not even be uttered. To suppose that those who serve Hari live in fear is improper, because God Himself stands behind them, unseen, fulfilling their desires. To suppose they carry anxiety is simply an impossible story. The closing line makes the protection concrete and daily: food to eat, clothes to wear, and even the means to give to others are all supplied by Him. The devotee's whole need, material as well as spiritual, is God's own responsibility.
