चोर टेंकाचे निघाले चोरी । आपलें तैसें पारखे घरीं ॥1॥
नाहीं नफा नागवे आपण । गमाविले कान हात पाय ॥ध्रु.॥
बुिद्धहीन नये कांहीं चि कारणा । तयासवें जाणा तें चि सुख ॥2॥
तुका ह्मणे नाहीं ठाउकें वर्म । तयासी कर्म वोडवलें ॥3॥

English Translation
Thieves full of bluster set out to steal, but in the end they are robbed themselves. There is no profit; one only loses ears, hands, and feet. The witless person is fit for nothing. To go along with such a one is to share that same fate. Says Tuka, one who does not know the secret: karma has overtaken him.
