॥ अथ अवकाश ९ ॥ ॥ रोला छन्द ॥ कछुक देर रस प्रेम मगन मन मौन और दोउ धरेउ अथचरण धीर प्रश्न राखेउ पूछेउ सोउ ॥१॥ पंचम धाम प्रभु रूप कहेउ सन्देह कृपा धानि महा रसिक मणिईश महा कवि भक्ति शिरोमणि ॥१॥ प्रभु आनंद जुत कहहिं सुनहु श्रुति चारि चतुरचर ईश हमार तुम्हार एक राजत पाँचहु घर प्रति स्थान विहार भेद जे हि लखै खेद नहि कतहु दिव्य गुन तेज दृष्टि कहूँ रूप भेद नहि ॥२॥ परम गुह्य यह शास्त्र गोप्य मैं कही कहउँ तहाँ जहँ सत्संग विवेक हृदय चष खुले दिव्य जहँ शान्ति सुमति संतोष रसिक विज्ञान शास्त्र वित दया प्रेम हर्ष भक्त भक्ति त्रय गुन्य जगत जित ॥३॥ ॥ काव्य छन्द ॥ रहेउ प्रश्न सो सुनहु चित्त धर भक्तिमुख भाषों तुम प्रवीन सर्वज्ञ तदपि जस कछु नहि राखों राम नाम सम मंत्र आन नहि कोइ जानहि जोहि जेहि जाने जग नाश आस विज्ञान आदि नहि ॥१॥ नाम रूप शिव लखी राम सिय हृदय बसे हैं ज्ञान कसौटी मनहि नाम बल भले कसे हैं

After some time both remain silent, minds absorbed in the rasa of love. Then the steadfast Rāmacaraṇa poses his question, asking the great connoisseur, lord of jewels, great poet, and crest-jewel of bhakti to remove a doubt about the Lord's form in the fifth abode. The Lord answers joyfully: 'Hear, you four skilful embodiments of revelation. Your Lord and mine is one, though he shines in five houses. Whoever sees the distinct sports at each place suffers no distress; divine qualities and splendour may differ in view, but not the underlying form.' This teaching is supremely secret and may be spoken only where holy company and discernment open the divine eye of the heart, where peace, right understanding, contentment, rasa-wisdom, learning, compassion, love, joy, devotees, and bhakti conquer the three guṇas and the world. The Kāvya metre turns to the remaining question: attend carefully to this speech from bhakti. Though you are learned and all-knowing, nothing at all will be withheld. No mantra equals the name of Rāma; whoever knows it knows no worldly destruction, expectation, or merely derivative knowledge. Śiva beheld the name's form, and Rāma with Sītā dwells in his heart. The name is the touchstone of knowledge and the strength by which the good are tested; the sentence continues on the next page.
