Fresh English translation
In Rāga Malār, Lāḍilī and Lāl swing together. Dense blue foliage forms a canopy like a chain of clouds; thunder sounds sweetly, cuckoos sing musical notes, rain fills the trees, peacocks call nectarously, and the bright Sarayū surges in netlike waves. A breeze surpassing all three kinds of wind flutters the Beloved's moving garment. Ornaments at hands and feet are lightning, nails are stars and moons, and brows are Indra's bows. Many companions swing with the youthful pair and push them, singing sweetly to bewitch Lāl's mind and creating varied swing-rasas. It seems that every rhythm has been prepared for the wedding of Love and Rati. Seeing Lāl's forest sport, one becomes oblivious and forgets every condition. Only a companion who tastes this treasury of rasa remains blessed day and night; Rāmacaraṇa says that whoever abandons it for another theme bears darkness on the face and brow. The dohas identify throne, forest, dwelling, rasa, secret sport, and every companion as appearances of the one Self in every vessel: the many are untrue, that One is true. The Vedas and Videhas become mind-transcending, the sages speech-transcending; doubt is destroyed and the bow is filled with the joy of victory over the warriors of the three guṇas. Thus ends avakāśa 7, the description of the sport in the ocean of rāsa situated in the forest of the rāsa-circle in Śrī Rasamālikā.
