The king of birds comes to Shiva in profound distress. The meeting does not occur in a formal hall of instruction. Shiva is already upon the road, traveling toward the dwelling of Kubera.
Uma remains at Kailash while the two travelers meet between destinations. Garuda arrives carrying the battlefield image of Rama in serpent bonds, Narada's warning about maya, and Brahma's command to seek Mahesha. His anguish has crossed worlds without finding rest.
The roadside encounter reveals how grace enters motion. Garuda does not have to wait for a throne, ceremony, or appointed hour. The teacher is found upon the path because the question has ripened enough to recognize him there. Shiva, who once wandered in separation and found Bhushundi's mountain, now meets another wanderer whose certainty has been broken by divine lila. Their journeys touch for the length of a saving conversation.
Between Kailash and Kubera's house, a road becomes the meeting place where Garuda's long-carried anguish can finally bow.
