The Guru who has named the fruit of every discipline now asks Rama for a single boon. Scholarship, office, lineage, and spiritual attainment fall silent before the request.
Grant by your grace, he prays, that birth after birth my love for the Lord's lotus feet may never diminish.
Vashishtha does not ask to avoid future embodiment. If births come, let each become another field of devotion. Continuity of love matters more than continuity of circumstance. The sage seeks no guarantee that the road will remain familiar, only that the heart's direction will not be lost. Across whatever forms time gives, Rama's feet must remain the one place toward which affection flows without becoming less.
Vashishtha asks not for an end to birth, but for a love that no birth can make smaller.
