The curse falls, and Hari receives it upon his head. There is no resistance, anger, or defence. Joy remains within the Lord because the words fit a compassionate purpose Narada cannot yet perceive.
Vishnu makes loving entreaties to the sage, answering fury with tenderness. The one accused of deceit does not expose his accuser or withdraw affection. He allows the devotee's pain to empty itself completely.
Then the treasury of compassion draws back the power of his own Maya. The world built around pride has finished its work. City, princess, rivalry, beauty, rejection, and rage stand at the edge of dissolution as clear seeing prepares to return.
Hari bows beneath the curse, and the great veil begins to lift.

श्राप सीस धरी हरषि हियँ प्रभु बहु बिनती कीन्हि। निज माया कै प्रबलता करषि कृपानिधि लीन्हि।।137।।
The Lord received the curse upon his head with joy in his heart and made many loving entreaties to Narada. Then that treasury of compassion withdrew the power of his own maya.
